Why Comprehensive Health Care Matters to Logan:
As a patient coordinator, Logan saw patients defer dental treatment because of medical debt and insurance gaps. Logan deferred treatment for this reason. Pits turn into cavities, cavities begin to ache, and we are left with a healthcare crisis. So, what did Logan do when the benefits of thousands of Oregonians’ were threatened? He knocked on doors and he advocated. Although he didn’t benefit from OHP, his patients did, the community did, and no one deserves to go without healthcare. As our state representative, Logan will work tirelessly for comprehensive healthcare reform, because our health is not limited to the emergency room.
Logan’s Plan for Comprehensive Healthcare:
Reduce drug costs, because $75 for insulin is too much for a lifesaving prescription.
Prioritize preventative care, because we cannot lose another baby to undiagnosed cancer, or veteran to mental illness.
Protect our reproductive rights, because birth control, IUDs, and abortion care is both lifesaving and part of our constitutional right to privacy (14th amendment.)
Cover eye exams, because too many Oregonians’ are missing out on the opportunities that clear vision provides. The loss of any of our six senses dramatically increases the chances of Alzheimer's disease.
Expand insurance networks so patients may see any doctor, because bodily freedom is the ultimate freedom.
Address the nursing shortage through local Career and Technical Education, because the best caregivers are our neighbors.
Reform home care, because Oregon’s lack of providers strikes us the hardest. Childcare and Eldercare is healthcare.
Expand dental access in rural communities.
Fund medical transportation to obtain access to specialized care.
Logan believes that affordable, comprehensive healthcare is a right, which is why he supports the HOPE amendment and organized our community to protect the Oregon Health Plan at the ballot. Logan will work tirelessly to bring about a more just and fair healthcare system as your State Representative. Everyone deserves access to healthcare.
